Hi there,

I hope his tool (Leo's tool) is not susceptible to anything else he will
not be very happy.

It is up to those who implement the website in question to protected it
from unauthorised access. The search engine could easily work within
that protected zone. The engine itself does not have to offer the
protection as that work is done by the web server. Having said that,
you must watch out for rogue engines which could pass information out
eg. on how they are used etc (BTW. I don't know of any such engines but
no doubt they may exist).

You might want to discuss with your technical staff how they would
implement security and then see for which engine can meet the requirements.

Regards
Charles
